Excavator Operator - Auckland

We are seeking experienced Excavator Operator's to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for operating machines ranging from 1.5 ton - 20 ton, completing foundation excavations and backfills, auguring, trenching, general site works, demolition, asphalt/ driveway preparation and retaining wall excavation.

The requirements:

  • Have a Class 1 license, and WTR endorsement. 
  • Proven experience operating machines from 1.5 ton - 20 ton, completing the above scope of works. 
  • Has experience working on residential and commercial construction sites. 
  • Can work to grade, including finishing to fine tolerances of cut/ fill. 
  • Can operate a laser and read/ understand construction plans and engineer instructions. 
  • Be reliable, organised and have excellent communication skills. 
  • Have a strong commitment to health and safety. 
  • Be a team player, who will help out to get the job done (e.g. labouring, small machine/ plant operation).

Retaining Wall Builder - Auckland 

We are looking for an experienced Retaining Wall Builder to join our Auckland team. Reporting directly to our Civil Manager, the successful applicant will assist in building retaining walls (timber pole, keystone and concrete block) and undertake carpentry work associated with our civil construction jobs. 

The requirements:

  • Class 1 full driver’s licence with the ability to back/ tow a trailer. Class 2/4 or WTR would be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years building experience constructing timber, keystone and concrete block retaining walls.
  • A carpentry qualification, or proven equivalent experience on construction sites.
  • The ability to read construction plans/ drawings and build accordingly.
  • Have an understanding of the ground preparation works involved with excavations, asphalt and concrete. 
  • Any experience operating heavy machinery associated with excavations would be an advantage.
  • A commitment to on site health and safety processes.
  • Good organisation and communication skills.
  • A sense of pride in your work.
  • Committed to being at work on time and ready for the day.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
