Earthworks and civil construction

Our client constructed a new 43 unit development with carparking and external landscaping. Undertaking our biggest job volume wise, our scope included bulk earthworks of around 5000 ton of material excavated and removed, and 6000 ton of imported material for the following:

  • 600mm deep reinforced gravel rafts for the units
  • Construction of 150mm thick concrete car park and paths
  • Construction of permeable paved car parking area
  • Kerb and channel/ V - channel
  • Timber landscape retaining walls
  • Line marking, wheel stops

Project Achievements

  • Location of the project required extensive traffic management and careful coordination of operations to ensure smooth execution of our works.

  • The site required a number of machines working in tandem to complete the bulk earthworks component of our works, meaning the site was extremely busy with a number of mobile machines operating. All truck and machine movements were coordinated safely, with no reported incidents or near misses from our component of the works.
  • We gained the developer significant time on their construction programme due to achieving efficiencies at the start of the project.
